Quizzes are an essential element in your interactive online experience. They track how well you're doing in the course by testing your knowledge. We prefer to quiz often with smaller overall question sets.
You need to achieve a grade of 80% or better to consider an individual quiz as "passed." You'll need to achieve an overall average of 80% or better in a course in order to mark a course as completed. But don't worry, we want you to pass so we've made it possible to take a quiz as often as you like. If you don't pass a quiz, review the study material and try again in another day or two.
To start a quiz, click on the quiz link in the lesson and then click on the "attempt quiz" button at the bottom of the screen. If you've already taken the quiz, a summary of your last attempt will appear along with a button that says "Retake Quiz." Click that button to take the quiz again.
QUIZ NAVIGATION AND FLAGGING
Once in the quiz, take note of a couple navigational aids: first, in the upper left-hand corner of the quiz is a small navigation block that looks like this:
This will tell you how many questions are in this quiz and which question you are currently viewing.
You can flag a question if you want to mark that question and return to it later. Just click on the "answer later" box in the upper-right. Don't worry — marking a question to answer later it won't affect your score.
The quiz will automatically loop back on any unanswered questions, giving you a chance to answer them before you submit the quiz.
You can navigate between questions by clicking on the "previous question" or "save and next question" buttons. Take care not to click on "previous unit" or "next unit" as this will navigate you right out of the quiz.
After you answer the last question you will be presented with a summary of your quiz attempt. This summary is helpful because it tells you which questions you've answered. (If it's not obvious, it's best to answer all the questions!) You can still change your answers here before clicking "Submit Answers."
When you're ready, click the "Submit Answers" button at the bottom of the quiz. This will submit your answers for grading and lock in your answers. Don't worry — while you can't change your answers for this attempt, you can always take a quiz again if you choose.
REVIEWING QUIZ FEEDBACK
We provide feedback on all answers, right or wrong. This can be very helpful so make sure to review your quiz and read the feedback once you've completed a quiz. What we don't provide, however, is the correct answer if you got it wrong. This you'll have to find out on your own.
The first thing you should notice when reviewing your quiz results is that the quiz navigation (the block in the upper right-hand side of the page) has changed. Now it shows questions you got right in green, questions you got wrong in red, and questions you got partially correct in yellow. Here's an example:
